THING 14

Today we tackle Reader's Advisory
I did not think it was very easy to post my addition to the
staff book list. But having succeeded I added Good Night, Mr. Tom,
one of my all time favorite books.
I do like the booklists and added blogs
Thing 16

Here we learn about Myspace and Facebook. Myspace has
really taken off with the younger generation. I can see that if we
did have a VBPL social network it could be useful in spreading
library news and information. But I do not think we have to converse
with the students, unless it is strictly library related, or reference
information. No social chatting.
I have had a MySpace account for several years, but I do not put too
much personal information there.
THING 15

I have had a MYSpace for several years. I must admit I
had not used it very much. I do have several blogs that I use to download
music.
I also do subscribe to Facebook. But again do not post often. Just the odd YOUTUBES.
and of course to play Scrable!!

Thing 13

I have always loved Wikipedia, even tho' I was not aware at first exactly how it worked. There are good points and bad points. Seeing as everyone has access, everyone can add to the site. How authentic is the information?
Having a wiki just for the the Info staff or the library can be informative and fun.
Thing12

We use IM here at the library. This is a way that patrons can be in instant touch with us for information.
IM is now often sent by cell phone. Seems to be the way f thefuture for library communication.

Thing 11

Instant Messaging (IM)

Can see why this is popular with the younger set.
Great way of keeping in touch over the Internet.
Thing 9

Have set up a Google Reader account.

Thing 10

'marked' a few RSS feeds.
Think I will enjoy this, but it is just one
more thing to do and learn.
